Communications and Fundraising Committee
This committee has two distinct but complementary focus areas, membership and fundraising and is co-chaired by resident Linda Ridgeway & former board member Old Town champion Tom Clark.
The monthly meeting takes place on the first Wednesday of the month directly after the Board Meeting at District 4 Coalition.
Please fill out the news/letter contact form, and select which committees you’re interested in!
Communications
Sharing Old Town’s news, events, and resources is critical to the neighborhood’s successful quality of life. For visitors and the general community, we do this through our website, social media and regular ‘good news’ media releases to inform the public of the rich collection of entertainment/food/beverage venues, events, shopping, and cultural institutions available to them. For neighborhood businesses, instions, and residents we issue a monthly newsletter to keep them informed of events, news, and resources in the community. Committee members participate in these through leading an initiative, monthly meeting discussion, and coordination with OTCA staff.
Fundraising
OTCA funds its staff and programs through a combination of grants and donations. Examples of current programs include our events program, the good news media releases, sidewalk repairs, street trees and tree well treatments, over-street Asian lanterns, the Chinatown gate restoration, and festival blocks upgrades. Committee members participate in these through leading an initiative, monthly meeting discussions, and coordination with OTCA staff. To solicit donations, members contact local businesses and residents and inform them of the work of OTCA and opportunities to support these programs.
